Different elements that make up a design job.

Variety - Greater variety in a job can improve the interest of their client or client's. Doing the same repetitive design elements may offer challenge and can lead to disinterest or the client becoming dissatisfied.

Alternatively, too much variety can also be frustrating and a source of conflict and dissatisfaction between you as a designer and the client/audience. The amount of variety really depends on the person your doing the work for, the level of the position and the needs of the job you are pursuing.

Responsibility - Individuals need to fell responsible for the work they are doing, either individually or as part of a team. The work should clearly be identified so that they can see that they are personally responsible for the outcomes(success and failures) that occur asa a result of their own actions. Also the employee should be able to understand the significance of the work they undertake and where it fits into the purpose of the business/organisation.

Feedback - Feedback is especially important in the design industry. Its a gresat opportunity to reflect on your work good/bad to improve your work and abilities as a designer. Everyone benefits from feedback because it helps people feel motivated and contributes to the development of their work.

And it can form a formal working relationship with the client having such things as 'one-to-one' meetings, phone calls, emails etc.

It also sets a bar of standard to the designer as well as the client, their expections, ambition and what they want to achieve.
